Methodology, Assumptions & Limitations
The Net Worth EstimatorTM tool was developed by Merrill Lynch Global Wealth Management Investment Management and Guidance. It walks you through some asset and account inputs and/or selections and provides your net worth, calculated by a simple assets minus liabilities calculation.
Inputs
Define your assets in the form of Investable Assets (select Merrill Edge accounts or enter non-Merrill Edge accounts), Personal Assets (such as jewelry, automobiles or other valuables) and Other Assets (such as stock options or other business interests) and debt like mortgages, credit cards, education loans etc.
Results
A graphical representation of total assets, debt and net worth is displayed via a bar chart. Pie-charts represent assets and debt with individual slices indicating various categories. The results and charts are recalculated in real time reflecting the modified amounts.
Accounts Included in This Tool
Certain assets maintained by or at Merrill Lynch will automatically appear for selection when you use the tool. The accounts that are displayed are accounts held at Merrill Lynch ("Your Merrill Edge Accounts") and of which you have selected to be aggregated under your User ID. Benefits Online accounts and Bank of America accounts are not pre-populated in this tool.
